Well one thing for sure is that you don’t have to be a professional designer to start your first residential project.

Be sure to check where’s the location of your electrical circuits and the water mains and keep that area clear, because you don’t want to mess with that unless you know what you’re doing, if you should remove the location of these circuits because of your design then you could contact an electrician to do it for you.
